The best vibe coding tools in 2026 depend on how much code you know. If you have never coded, start with Lovable, Bolt, Base44, Replit or Google AI Studio, which build your app, host it and add logins for you. If you know some code, v0 and Replit let you see and edit it, and if you code for a living, coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor go furthest.

Vibe coding means building software by describing what you want and judging the result by running it, not by reading the code. Our guide to what vibe coding is covers the idea and its risks. This page answers the practical questions: which tool fits you, and what happens after the prototype works.

One disclosure: Cyborb, a desktop AI agent from Orbioom, is our product. It is included once, labeled as ours.

The short version
  • Never coded: Lovable, Bolt, Base44, Replit and Google AI Studio turn a description into a hosted app, with login and a database built in. All five have free plans.
  • Some code: v0 and Replit show you the code as you go, and Cursor’s free Hobby plan is a gentle step into a real editor.
  • Code for a living: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and GitHub Copilot, where you review what the agent writes.
  • Free plans are small: 5 credits a day on Lovable, 7 messages a day on v0, 25 message credits a month on Base44.
  • Before real users arrive, check hosting, login and database rules. Lovable scans automatically when you publish, and Bolt offers a security audit in its Publish menu on paid plans.

If what you want is a marketing site rather than an app, visual builders such as Framer and Wix may suit you better. Our AI website builders compared covers them.

Best vibe coding tools for beginners and non-coders

Lovable, Bolt, Base44, Replit and Google AI Studio are the easiest start, because each one hosts your app and handles login and data without any setup. Prices were checked on September 28, 2026.

01LovableApp builder

Builds full web apps from a chat. Lovable Cloud adds a database, user sign-in, file storage and hosting, built on Supabase. Free: 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month. Pro: $25 a month for 100 credits, or $21 billed yearly.

02BoltApp builder

Builds and hosts apps in the browser. Bolt Cloud adds a database with sign-ups, logins and password resets, plus file storage and domains. Free: 1M tokens a month, up to 300K a day. Pro: $25 a month.

03Base44App builder

Owned by Wix. A database, user login and hosting are built in, even on the free plan. Free: 25 message credits a month. Starter: $16 a month billed yearly, with a custom domain.

04ReplitApp builder and workspace

An agent builds your app in an online workspace where you can open every file. It can add sign-in through Replit Auth or Clerk. Free: daily agent credits and one published app, which goes down after 30 days. Core: $20 a month, or $18 billed yearly.

05Google AI StudioApp builder

Google’s Build mode turns a prompt into a web or Android app. It can set up a Firebase database and Sign in with Google, and sync your code to GitHub. Google says AI Studio usage is free of charge, and your first two apps deploy to Google Cloud at no cost, with no credit card. Paid models can add costs.

06CyborbDesktop agent, ours

Our own product, in public beta. You describe what you want; it plans the work, writes the code on your computer, runs it until the tests pass and publishes the result to a cyborb.app address, with hosting included. Free: the Air model and 3 published sites. Pro: $20 a month, or $18 billed yearly, adds custom domains.

Best vibe coding tools if you know some code

Replit and v0 are the best middle ground, because you can read and change the code they write. This is the stage where learning to read code pays off most; our guide to learning to code in 2026 explains why.

  • v0, from Vercel, builds Next.js and React apps and deploys them to Vercel. It runs commands and tests in a sandbox, and you choose how much it may do on its own. Databases such as Neon and Supabase connect through integrations. Free: $5 of credits a month and 7 messages a day. Plus: $30 per user per month.

  • Replit shows the whole project next to the agent, so you can watch what changes and edit it yourself.

  • Cursor is a full code editor with an agent inside. Its free Hobby plan has limited agent requests, and Pro is $20 a month.

Best vibe coding tools for developers

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and GitHub Copilot, because they work in your own repository and let you review every change. At this level, most people are not strictly vibe coding: they let the agent write and test, then review the risky parts. We explain the difference in agentic coding vs vibe coding.

On price, Claude Code starts with Claude Pro at $20 and has no free plan. Codex has a free tier with GPT-6 Luna in the ChatGPT desktop app, rolling out, and Plus at $20. Cursor has the free Hobby plan and Pro at $20. Copilot has a free plan and Pro at $10. Our list of the best AI coding agents of 2026 compares them in depth.

Google AI Studio’s free-of-charge usage was confirmed on September 28. “You add them” means the agent writes the code for a login or database service you pick. Our guide to adding login to your app compares the services.

Which vibe coding tools are free?

Every tool here except Claude Code has a free plan, but the allowances are small: enough to build a first version, not to run a business.

A few free plans stand out for a specific reason. Google AI Studio deploys your first two apps without a credit card. Base44 includes its database and login on the free plan. Replit’s free published app goes down after 30 days, so upgrade or move it before you share it widely.

Because each builder meters in its own unit (credits, tokens, messages or dollars), $25 does not buy the same amount of building everywhere. The fair test is to run the same brief on two free plans and see which one gets further.

What happens after the prototype?

Three things decide whether a vibe-coded app survives real users: where it is hosted, how people log in, and whether the database shows each user only their own data.

Hosting. Builders host for you, which is convenient until you want to leave. Check whether you can take the code and data out before you have users; our guide to exporting your site from AI builders covers each tool. Custom domains need a paid plan on most of them.

Login. Use the login your builder provides, or a hosted service. Never let the AI invent its own password system.

Security. Two builders now check your app for you. Lovable runs a quick scan automatically every time you publish, covering database rules and dependencies, and offers a deeper free scan on demand. Bolt checks your database settings on every plan and offers a full project audit on paid plans, from its Publish menu, without using tokens.

A common hole in vibe-coded apps is a database that lets anyone read everyone’s rows. Our explainer on row level security in Supabase shows how to close it, and the checklist for securing AI-generated code covers the rest.

FAQ

What is the best vibe coding tool for beginners?

If you have never coded, Lovable, Bolt, Base44 or Replit, because they host your app and handle login for you. Google AI Studio is a free place to start if you have a Google account.

Are vibe coding tools free?

Most have free plans, but they are small, such as 5 credits a day on Lovable or 7 messages a day on v0. Expect to pay $16 to $30 a month once you build seriously.

Can you build a real app with vibe coding tools?

Yes, if you add what a prototype skips: proper login, database rules that keep each user’s data apart, secrets kept on the server, and a security check before launch. Once real users or money are involved, consider moving to a coding agent with review.

Which vibe coding tools let me keep my code?

Lovable syncs to GitHub on every plan and lets you download code from Pro. Google AI Studio syncs to GitHub and exports a ZIP file. Coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor write the files on your own computer from the start.
