The best AI website builder depends on what you are making. For a marketing site you will keep editing by hand, Framer, Webflow and Wix are strong. For a web app with logins and data, chat-first builders such as Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit and Base44 are faster. If you want the code on your own computer, use a coding agent.
Prices are close, from $10 to $30 a month for entry paid plans. The difference most people miss is whether you can take your site with you when you leave. We checked every builder on its own pricing and help pages in September 2026.
- Two families: visual site builders with AI (Framer, Webflow, Wix) and chat-first app builders (Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit, Base44). Coding agents such as Cyborb, our own product, are a third path.
- Every tool here has a free plan. Entry paid plans run from $10 to $30 a month, and several quote yearly billing.
- Lovable, Bolt, v0 and Replit let you take the code out, and Base44 does from its Builder plan. Webflow exports static pages. Framer and Wix sites run only on their own platforms.
- Chat-first builders charge in credits or tokens, so the monthly price does not tell you how much you can build.
- Run the same brief through two builders on free plans before you pay.
Which AI website builder should you use?
Start from the job, not the brand.
| If you want | Start with |
|---|---|
| A marketing site or portfolio you will edit visually | Framer or Webflow |
| A small-business site with bookings, payments or a shop | Wix |
| A web app with logins and a database, without touching code | Lovable, Bolt, Base44 or Replit |
| A React app your developers will keep working on | v0 |
| An iPhone app in the App Store | Replit |
| The code on your own computer, hosted anywhere | A coding agent, such as Claude Code, Codex or Cyborb (ours) |
If your project is closer to an app than a website, our guide to building an app without coding covers the walls you will meet, such as payments and app stores. If design quality is what matters most, see our guide to UI design with AI for a workflow that avoids the generic look these tools can produce.
The builders at a glance
Every tool below has a free plan and can host your site for you. On most, a custom domain needs a paid plan. Prices are for one person, as listed in September 2026.
| Builder | Type | Entry paid plan | Can you take the code? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lovable | Chat-first app builder | Pro, $25 a month | Yes: GitHub sync, and code download on Pro |
| Bolt | Chat-first app builder | Pro, $25 a month | Yes: zip download or GitHub |
| v0 | Chat-first app builder | Plus, $30 a month per user | Yes: GitHub sync |
| Replit | App builder with a code workspace | Core, $20 a month ($18 billed yearly) | Yes: zip download or GitHub |
| Base44 | Chat-first app builder | Starter, $16 a month billed yearly | Yes, from the Builder plan: GitHub sync |
| Framer | Visual site builder | Basic, $10 a month billed yearly | No: no HTML export |
| Webflow | Visual site builder | Basic, $15 a month billed yearly | Partly: HTML and CSS on a paid workspace plan |
| Wix | Visual site builder | Light plan; price varies by region | No: sites run only on Wix |
| Cyborb (ours) | Desktop AI agent | Pro, $20 a month ($18 billed yearly) | Yes: the files are on your computer |
What each one does best
Builds complete web apps from a description, with a built-in backend for data and logins. The free plan gives 5 credits a day, up to 30 a month. Custom domains and code download start on Pro.
Builds and hosts web apps in the browser. The free plan includes 1M tokens a month, with a daily cap of 300K. Pro adds custom domains and starts at 10M tokens, and unused tokens roll over.
Vercel’s builder, strongest for React projects that will run on Vercel. Since its February 2026 relaunch, it can open an existing project from GitHub and follow the review steps developers use. Free includes $5 of credits a month.
A full online coding workspace with an AI agent, so you can see and edit everything. It can also build iPhone apps with Expo. The free plan publishes one app, which expires after 30 days.
Owned by Wix since June 2025, and focused on apps with a built-in database and logins. Starter includes a custom domain. Two-way GitHub sync starts on the Builder plan, at $40 a month billed yearly.
A design-first visual editor for marketing sites and portfolios, with AI features that run on monthly credits. Framer’s help center is clear that there is no HTML export for self-hosting.
A professional visual builder with a strong content system for blogs and marketing teams. Its code export gives you HTML and CSS, but your CMS content, the blog posts and other entries stored in Webflow, stays behind.
An all-in-one platform for small businesses: its paid plans include payments, scheduling and online stores, and its AI can create a site from a single prompt. Wix says sites must run on its own servers, so there is no export.
Our own product, in public beta. A desktop AI agent that writes your site or app as code on your computer, runs it and publishes it to a cyborb.app address with hosting included. Free includes 3 published sites; Pro adds custom domains.
Can you take your site with you?
Monthly prices differ by a few dollars. What happens when you want to leave differs far more.
Full code you can take anywhere: Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit and Base44 (from its Builder plan), plus coding agents. You can host the files elsewhere, often for free, as our guide to putting a website online explains.
Partial: Webflow exports static HTML and CSS on a paid workspace plan (Core is $19 a month billed yearly), without CMS content.
None: Framer and Wix sites cannot run anywhere else. You can copy your words and images out, but you rebuild the site.
Taking the code is not the same as running it elsewhere. If an app relies on the builder’s own database or login service, those need to move too, so ask how before you have real users.
What the prices really buy
Visual builders charge mainly for hosting, pages and features, with some AI credits included. Chat-first builders meter the AI itself, each in its own unit:
Lovable counts credits. Free gives 5 a day, and unused credits on monthly plans expire two months after they are issued.
Bolt counts tokens, the small chunks of text an AI reads and writes.
v0 counts dollars of credit, and the free plan also caps you at 7 messages a day.
Base44 counts message credits: 25 a month free, 100 on Starter.
Because the units differ, $25 on one builder does not buy the same amount of building as $25 on another. The only fair test is to run the same brief on two free plans and watch how fast each one drains.
How to choose in one afternoon
Name the job
Marketing site, web app or code you own. The table at the top narrows the field to two or three tools.
Write a one-page brief
Who the site is for, the one action you want, and the real facts it must say. Our guide to building a website with AI includes a template you can copy.
Run the brief on two free plans
Paste the same brief into two builders. Compare the results on your phone, not only on a laptop.
Make three edits in each
Change a headline, add a section and fix something small. The builder that makes edits easy is the one you will enjoy using for months.
Pay monthly first
Several prices above are yearly rates. Pay monthly until you are sure the tool fits, then switch to yearly billing if it saves you money.
FAQ
What is the best AI website builder?
There is no single best. For marketing sites you edit visually, look at Framer, Webflow or Wix. For web apps with logins and data, look at Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit or Base44. For code you own, use a coding agent.
Is there a free AI website builder?
All nine tools here have a free plan. Free plans limit how much AI you can use and usually publish on the builder’s own address. On most, a custom domain needs a paid plan.
Can I move my site from one AI builder to another?
Only if the first builder lets you take the code out. Lovable, Bolt, v0 and Replit do, and Base44 does from its Builder plan. Framer and Wix sites cannot be exported, and Webflow exports static pages without CMS content.
Which AI website builder is cheapest?
Among the entry prices we could confirm, Framer Basic at $10 a month billed yearly is the lowest. But chat-first builders meter AI use, so the cheapest plan for you depends on how much you build.
